The 3 best beauty products of 2018
Are you overwhelmed by the amount of new beauty products that come onto the market every year? Wondering which ones are worth your hard-earned cash? Luckily for you, students at our cosmetology colleges around the GTA have spent time digging through this year’s new releases to find your three of the best new products on the market.
1. When you need to catch up on your beauty sleep: Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon
Dermalogica knows how important your beauty sleep is, and their new night cream does double-duty, hydrating your skin while helping you sleep.
Its ingredients help your skin moisturize and renew itself, leaving you looking refreshed and radiant when you wake up. The star ingredient is French lavender extract which is motion activated. If you’re tossing and turning at night, it releases its calming scent and helps you fall asleep.
The company also released their Sound Sleep app, to be used in conjunction with Sound Sleep Cocoon. Together, they’ll have you looking and feeling better rested in no time.
2. When you want to revisit an old favourite: Nars Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm
This balm is the newest product from the company’s popular Orgasm line. This hydrating lip balm is the type of high quality product we expect from Nars, and leaves a shiny but subtle colour.
Ever since Nars released Orgasm blush in 1999, women everywhere have been obsessed. The peachy-pink colour with gold shimmer looks good on almost everyone, but isn’t overpowering.
Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm is perfect for when you don’t want to wear a ton of makeup, but you still want to look good.
3. When your hair needs a refresh: Verb Dry Shampoo for Light Hair and Dark Hair
Verb has two new dry shampoos on the market, one for blondes, and one for brunettes. The aerosol applicator is easier to use than the company’s popular powder dry shampoo.
These dry shampoos are light and leave your hair feeling fresh. The light hair formula has a violet tint to it, which balances the brassy or gold colours many blondes grapple with. The version for dark hair is a medium brown colour, and avoids doing what most dry shampoos do in dark hair—leave a white residue.
These dry shampoos are perfect for days when you hit the gym on your lunch break, or you just don’t feel like washing your hair.
